I got dis phn 3 dayz b4. I'am happy eit dis. I'm getting more dan wat I xpectd I bought this phone for R at Edgars. Its so great im not even concerned about the ics update. Upgraded to ICS and it turn I got this phone August last year, and it is absolutely fantastic! Huawei's Ascend G has a few shortcomings in comparison to the best smartphones on the market - namely, a low storage capacity, an inferior build, a less-capable camera and only a single-core processor - but its performance is well above that of Catwalk design, charity shop priceHuawei hasn't scrimped on the design to keep the price low.
For a first trip on the smartphone rollercoaster the Huawei G takes some beating, with its large, sharp four-inch screen and fast 1GHz processor.
It suffers in comparison with pricier rivals, but against its brethren a notch above the Android entry Huawei gets all the basics right and we can look past the Android Gingerbread 2. The Huawei Ascend G is a large screened handset, whose stylish build makes it look more expensive than it is.
It's ports and switches are all exactly where we'd expect them. Power on top, volume on the side. There is a 3. On the underside, you'll find the handset's camera lens, LED flash, external speaker and a second microphone, presumably to help cancel ambient noise during calls. As with the physical design of the phone, there is nothing particularly attractive about the Huawei Launcher software installed on the G, but it certainly works well. Despite some visual jitters in the animated transitions throughout the system, we had no trouble using the G on a day-to-day basis.
The combination of software and hardware creates a responsive canvas for users to swipe and scroll through. Powering on the phone from sleep is as near-to instantaneous as you can expect, and the basic system is ready to use straight away.
Huawei opts for a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor for the G, with a single-core 1GHz processor and an Adreno graphics chip, which serves this unit well. This zippy performance is also a product of Huawei using the older Gingerbread build of Android.
Though this is now two-generations of Android old, it is probably the best system for a phone with this hardware profile. During our tests, we recorded 4-hours and minutes of battery life when browsing the web continuously on a Wi-Fi connection.
This is a good result, helped in part by the size of the screen — with most new Android phones having screens slightly larger than the 4-inches here. It's normal heating, it's normal during charging and talking for ANY mobile. I'm satisfied with this mobile, it's cheap and has a big, good IPS screen.
And G has no stupid childish illneses like Xperia My favourite for low price. But, be careful - mobile phones ARE dangerous to our health, despite we need them.
