Queuing outside retail stores is not permitted as this will impact on the space available to ensure safe passage and social distancing around the centre. Shoppers and visitors are kindly asked to walk on the darker brick path down the centre of the High Street to allow for queues outside of shops.
Shops on the High Street are permitted to have their queues along their own shop front only. Many have social distancing floor stickers to reinforce this message. Parking charges in Solihull Council owned car parks and parking bays recommenced on July 1.
Touchwood toilets and baby change facilities will be open however, they may need to restrict access to ensure social distancing. These facilities will be open during centre opening hours: Monday — Saturday: 10am — 5pm; Sunday: 11am — 5pm.

The hospitality industry is not the only one to have been hit hard by the lockdown and other sectors have pulled together to support the Solihull community. Its work includes supporting organisations such as Sparkhill Foodbank, who the Solihull team have worked closely with since Age UK Solihull set up an emergency food bank and delivered 3, emergency food parcels to older and vulnerable people.
Town centre businesses including Solihull Summerfest, Sembcorp Energy and Paragon Bank chipped in with donations which enabled Age UK to keep their essential services running. Boots in Mell Square set up a safe space for victims of domestic abuse. With most businesses given the green light to open their doors, Solihull has experienced a steady rise in the number of visitors to the town centre. The BID is also leading on a town centre campaign, asking people to be kind and patient as the town centre responds to a situation never seen before.
